Katie Canape and Torey Neil knocked in goals, and Queensbury topped Scotia-Glenville in a Foothills Council league game Tuesday. The Lady Tartans playing shorthanded without several key players could not get on track against Queensbury, however, the game was highlighted by the many defensive saves, from Scotia defenders Emily Peterson, Sarah Duane, Julia Tine, Melina Pereyra and midfielder Cathy Kennedy, which kept the game within reach. Jessica Galatioto had 1 save for the Lady Spartans, who held the advantage in shots on goal (15-1) and penalty corners (11-4). Patricia Haffner made 5 saves for the Lady Tartans.

Kayleigh Miles and Mikayla Thomas each found the net to lift Scotia-Glenville to a 2-1 victory over South Glens Falls in a Foothills Council field hockey match Tuesday. Allie Reed and Mary Kate Wilding each had one assist in the Lady Tartans first victory of the season. Midfield ball control was the key factor as Scotia held possession for 17:48 minutes of the first half and 24:20 minutes of the second half with a dominating performance from midfielders Jessica Pajak, Sierra Plemenik and Cathy Kennedy. Ashley Talbot scored the lone goal for the Bulldogs, while Deanna Sutherland and Nicole Wjotwecz combined for 6 saves in goal. Patricia Haffner made 7 saves for the Lady Tartans, who held the advantage in shots on goal (11-4) and penalty corners (7-6).

The Lady Tartans Field Hockey Club 2010 Youth Program provides both technical and tactical training for youth players in a fun, game-oriented atmosphere.

That every athlete will flourish is symbolized in our logo with the Latin phrase “DEI SVB NVMINE VIGET”, meaning, “Under God’s light she flourishes”. Our commitment is provide a venue for a youth program, developing young athletes and to create, nourish and develop a love and enthusiasm for sports and fitness by advancing the values of participation, and educating and developing athletic skills through field hockey.

Located at Meadows Field in Collins Park, Scotia NY
Ages: 7-13 (Grades 3-8)

Hockey Edge 100 field hockey camps at the University of Massachusetts can help you get the edge at the high school and onto the collegiate levels!  Hockey Edge 100 boasts a high player to coach ratio and one of the most progressive curriculums in the country, touching on everything from the basics to tactical concepts.

Hockey Edge 100 prides itself on a staff of proven winners, owned and operated by UMass Head Coach, Justine Sowry.  On staff this summer will be former Olympic squad members, World Cup members, NCAA National Champions, and several Conference Champion winners.

We offer a camp designed especially for Goalkeepers and Goal Scorer’s and a second Total Skills Camp.
